A young man finds his estranged father living in a remote cabin, committed to a meticulous yet obscure daily task. As the son learns it, frustration gives way to understanding—until he learns of his father’s pending death. He realises he cannot walk away. Unknowingly, he has stepped into a cycle that has repeated for generations, one his own child will one day inherit.

Tomorrow, in retrospect

In the afterlife, the deceased watch their past lives on tape before being reborn. A young man meets a girl who feels strangely familiar. As they compare memories, eerie coincidences emerge—shared experiences, mirrored emotions, an unshakable connection. Slowly, they realise they are not separate souls but the same being, divided across different timelines.

What it Means to Be

An abstract meditation on existence, expressed through the languages of movement, detached dialogue and physicality. With no script, only movement rules and scores, the film unfolds as a fluid exploration of self and presence, mapping out existence through metaphor and abstraction.

I arrive at the 24 Commando Engineers regiment in Chivenor, and for two weeks, I follow British Army Officers and Soldiers as they undergo intense training for the All Arms Commando Course (AACC) in Lympstone. It captures their physical and mental challenges, showcasing the grit and determination required to earn the coveted Green Beret.

Guided by a thought experiment from my brother, it reimagines the stars not as distant celestial bodies but as discarded remnants of fleeting ideas—scrunched-up pieces of paper, once inscribed by a little spaceman. His quiet act of writing and discarding becomes a cosmic cycle, filling the void with forgotten fragments of thought.
